HAIR FOR "HOT LIKE WOW" GIRLS FOR RECITAL
Instead of wearing hair slicked into a side pony for Recital, curl all of your hair into loose curls do the bump to pull bangs back then pull hair in a loose side pony on the right side. We will wear it this way for all of your dances. LOVE YA ALL!!!!!!!!

Hair for recital: part on the left side. Swoop bangs back and to the side, pinned. Rest of hair curled. Headband in just behind the bangs. Remember to bobby pin headband in good. Also safety pin your belts in place.

PICTURE MAKE UP DATE
If you are not going to be here for our pictures we are doing a make up date on Monday June 27th at 6:00 p.m. We will do a group and individual picture even we will have girls in different costumes it will still look very cute and everyone will be in a picture hanging at the studio. We will be doing them at the Flying J building across the street from Smiths on 40th. Will you please leave me a comment on this page if you are going to come to the make up picture? If we do not have enough girls my photographer will not be able to come. Thanks!!!!(Hair can be however you would like it for pictures)
DRESS REHEARSAL TIME
I am so sorry I forgot to put the times down for the Rehearsal! The girls need to be there at 4:00 SHARP!!!!!!!!!!! Not 1 min. late! I will start with my littlest classes first. The rehearsal will go until 8:00 however if you are one of my youngest classes you will be excused as soon as soon as you have done your dance on the stage and we have practiced the finale. It should be around 5:30.

2011 RECITAL HANDBOOK
INTRODUCTION
This handbook is your key to a smooth recital experience. It should be able to answer your questions, and inform you of what is required from all students and families.
The recital will be a rewarding experience for all of our students. If this is your student’s first year at the Electric Youth Dance Company, we encourage the entire family to approach this milestone with support and enthusiasm. The benefits of performing in front of a live audience and participating in the artistic process of choreography, rehearsals, and teamwork are innumerous. Most important, each student is given the opportunity to be someone special someone who has worked with diligence, determination, and heart to achieve her goals.
Performing on stage builds confidence and character; it gives one a sense of accomplishments and pride. These are qualities we want to see our children attain. The recital experience will help a child in other aspects of their personal lives at school, church, sports activities, and much more.
RECITAL FEE
Your $35.00(per family (which means sisters, brothers not cousins) recital fee includes entrance fees for you, your family, and friends. This must be paid by June 16th. All dancers who have not paid by June 16th will be unable to participate in the dance recital. This fee goes towards the rental of the auditorium, tech fees and Janitor fees for our dress rehearsal and recital. This way you can invite whoever you would like and they do not need to pay a fee to see you.
DRESS REHEARSAL (Thurs, JUNE 16th)
The Dress Rehearsal is held at Roy High School. All classes will have stage time in which they will practice their routine with full costume, performance lights and music. Each class has only 10 minutes on the stage so please do not be late! The girls will be excused after they have practiced on the stage and gone through the finale. Please do not be late.
When you get there come into the auditorium and sit with your class. I need everyone to stay in the auditorium!! Parents are welcome to stay however please do not let other children run around and please keep quiet, sometimes the parents are louder than the girls.
PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEOS
I have hired a professional video-ographer to video our recital. This is a professional quality keepsake that your family will enjoy for years! We will use two professional video cameras to film the recital. The cost for the DVD is $30.00. You will be able to order your copy at the rehearsal.

The performance will start promptly at 6:30 p.m. All students must arrive and meet in the back hallway at 6:00 p.m. sharp!!
Students should use the restroom before their parents drop them off. I have Sunset Jr. Highs Cheerleaders there to help me with all of my little girls classes, So moms do not have to stay backstage.
We will warm up and then get lined up for our show to begin. After each class has performed the volunteer in charge of each class will take the girls back and start lining them up for the Finale. After the Finale, I will have all of the little one stay on the stage and parents can pick them up.
The doors will not open until 6:00 p.m. We then ask that you do NOT reserve more than five seats per dancer. All reserved seats should be let go five minutes before the recital.
UNPAID TUITION
All tuition, recital fees, and costume balances need to be paid on or before June 16th. If your account is not current your daughter will be unable to participate in our Dance Recital.
MAKE-UP
Make-up should be worn to performance and dress rehearsal. Eye shadow, eyeliner, mascara, blush, lip liner and lipstick should be natural tones. Cheeks and lips should be reds or dark pinks. Competition teams should wear your competition make-up. Make-up should look natural, not heavy. If your performer does not have enough make-up on she will look washed out on stage. We want their beautiful features to be seen from a distance.

*”Wild One”. - Black ballet shoes. Hair very crimped. (put hair in either french braids or several braids the night before and then take them out and fluff hair.) Head band bobby pinned in good! Please safety pin the zebra print top to the green leo on both sides. I will have suntan tights for them to wear under them.
*”Tarzan and Jane” - No socks and black dance shoes. Hair in Alice Wonderland very curly. Head band bobby pinned in good!
*”I Just Can’t Wait to be King” - No socks and black dance shoes. Hair in Alice Wonderland very curly. Head band bobby pinned in good!

*Boys hip hop - Wear tennis shoes with your shorts and t-shirts
*Tumblers – If you are in a dance class keep hair the same. If you are only doing tumbling pull hair out of face into a pony tail, curled. Wear shorts and T shirts with no shoes or socks.
*Competiton girls – Same as you did for competition. For rehearsal we will not have time to change costumes so please wear your main costume and bring the others.
EVERYONE- Be sure to bobby pin headbands etc. in hair!!!
Alice Wonderland hair - part hair right behind ears and pull up both sides into a pony at the crown of head. So the back of hair will be down but the front will be pulled out of eyes. Even if hair is short you should be able to pull up the sides. If not just curl hair. (pink spongy curlers work best to curl hair) I prefer no bangs.
EXTREME BOUTIQUE
We will be selling our summer practice outfits at the Rehearsal. I will have sample sizes there for you to try on. I will order them on the 21st and if you do not order at the dress rehearsal or recital you will not be able to get them. I am only putting in ONE order. The cost of these is $25.00 and they are very cute! If you are doing tumbling at the Recital you will already have your summer outfit. They will be at the studio the first of July. We will wear these in the South Weber parade in Aug. (If you do not order a T-shirt and shorts you can wear your costume in the parade.)

TEAM AND INDIVIDUAL PICTURES
We will be doing class pictures and individual pictures on Friday June 17th at a beautiful home in East Layton. The address is 2446 Kayscreek Dr. Layton. (It is off of Highway 89) Hair can be however you would like it for your picture. Times listed below is the time we will do each class. Do not be late or you will miss your pictures, however because it is at someones home do not show up early either. Please park on the side of the road and do not block the driveway. I will meet the girls in the driveway and take them to the back yard for their pictures. All parents and family memebers will have to wait in the front because we need to respect their yard and not have so much traffic on the lawn. If you do not want to purchase pictures I would still like the girls to be in them. I hang these at the Studio after so I really like to have as many there as possible. I will send home an order form at dancing. Please fill it out and return it at the Dress Rehearsal. I will have a table set up to purchase summer practice outfits, Recital DVDs and pictures. The cost of pictures will be $12.00. It will be an 8x10 Team and individual picture all in one. If you would like to purchase more pictures you can do so on the order form. Thanks!

LAGOON DANCE COMPETITION
On Sat. June 11th we will be competing at the USA Dance Championship competition at Lagoon. I will have discount tickets next week for those that told me how many they would like. I had a few pay me for them so I will just return your check with the tickets because you purchase them there. I did order some extras so let me know how many you need. I will give every girl a discount parking ticket and you will then take the discount voucher to the window at Lagoon to purchase your tickets. The performers get in for free but will need to buy a ride pass if they are planning on riding rides. If you do not have a voucher you will have to pay full price. They said to allow 1 hour for parking and ticket purchase. Please plan accordingly because she said that they have girls miss thier performance because they did not allow enough time to enter the park. The time listed below is what time I need the girls to meet me at the Davis Pavilion Stage (East end of the Park, turn left at the Jet Star.) There are no dressing rooms so show up all ready to perform!!! Some of you have costume changes, you can either change in the restrooms or bring a tent and set it up on the grass and use it as a dressing room. We are not going to be able to compete our Transform You dance because the stage is not big enough :(
